"Cause us to hear Your lovingkindness for on You do we lean and in You do we trust. Cause us to know the way wherein we should walk, for we lift up our inner self to You." Psalm 143:8

In Matthew:
I am reminded to increase my faith during hard times..I hope this verse stays with me, within and without the next time a storm comes over, "O Ye of Little Faith"
In Acts 12:
It's amazing what a night of prayer can do..because the mother of John and some people were praying throughout the night and can you imagine, suddenly a knock came and they got what they prayed for! Even though it was slightly ironic that they did not believe it was Peter at first, they were disbelieving that God can produce such a miracle!
If someone could extrapolate more from the Genesis reading than I can, I would be grateful.
Although it seems like a happy ending, that the family is reunited once more, it seems sad in the future when the Israelites became slaves during Moses' times..So they were brought to a foreign country and people, and that was the end product? Of course, it was sin and ignorance that brought them to theat state..Nevertheless, this is a very touching passage!
I loove reading about Peter~ he seems like such a eager kid who always messes up but God transforms him so much. In Acts 12:6, although he's in prison, he has so much faith in God that he just sleeps soundly despite the death sentence lurking over his head. He sleeps so soundly that the angel had to smack him to get him to wake up. He is confident that God will pull through for him, but remember this is the guy who tried to walk on water but started sinking because he doubted God. I really want that kind of peace and faithfulness, even and especially during the stormy times in my life.
It's interesting that the people doubted at first when their prayer was answered. Sometimes I just pray for the sake of praying, not fully believing that God will hear and answer.
Forgiveness is still so foreign to me. But Joseph even asks his brothers to forgive themselves.
