Thanks Lynni for keeping up.

Matthew 9:17 "'Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.'" Since coming back to school, I feel like I've been regressing a lot...not doing devotions for one, being overwhelmed by academics, etc...I like this verse because it tells me if I want to keep growing I really have to put off the old ways and embrace the new me and the new ways.

I was also challenged by the people's faith in the rest of Matthew and Jesus' compassion. Lately I've been doubting what God can do, but he keeps surprising me. Also relates to Genesis 48:11 "Israel said to Joseph, 'I never expected to see your face again, and now God has allowed me to see your children too.'"

In Acts, I was struck by how verse 52 "the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit" immediately follows their being persecuted and banished.

Psalms are really awesome. Verse 4-5 "In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed." And verse 10 "From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother's womb you have been my God."
