"Cause us to hear Your lovingkindness for on You do we lean and in You do we trust. Cause us to know the way wherein we should walk, for we lift up our inner self to You." Psalm 143:8

Matt 5:38-48 is soo hard xp..."Do not resist an evil person. (not don't fight back, but don't even resist)If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you...Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you...what are you doing more than others?" Definitely need the Holy Spirit for that....
Acts 8:4 "Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went." In hard times and in being persecuted, these people still did God's work....wow.
verse 20...oof burn. "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money! You have no part of share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord...For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin." Simon = me xT trying to "earn" the GIFT of the Holy Spirit, trying to get the Spirit to do miraculous things, full of bitterness and captive to sin
I'm really feeling today's psalm.
How long, O Lord? But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.
I like Genesis 31:42. "If the God of my father, the God of Abraham and the Fear of Isaac, had not been with me, you would surely have sent me away empty-handed. But God has seen my hardship and the toil of my hands..." It is only God who provides, and he is faithful!
Haha Gloria. I agreee.. the Matthew passage is crazy hard (bordering on impossible). But what's even crazier is that the Jesus willingly allowed those whom he came to earth for to not only strike him on the cheek, but to take him all the way to the cross where he suffered excruciating pain and death. There he also prayed for mercy upon his murderers. Despite the fact that we caused God to turn His face away from His only son, he not only promises us salvation from hell, but allows us to be a part of His divine plan. God never turns down a request that is sincere, no matter how big the request, or how little we deserve it. In fact, He seeks us out and gives us more than we could ever pray for or even imagine. To a world that has ignored Him, rejected Him, and hated Him, he continues to give love. He does this knowing that this love is never fully reciprocated, because we can never love Him as much as He loves us.
God asks us to stretch ourselves, but He definitely gives us the strength and encouragement that we need to follow Him. :]
i see God's faithfulness throughout the passages. Even in Saul who will become Paul later on!
All the best with school girlS! Muaks
