Genesis 3-4, Psalms 2, Acts 1: 12-26, Matt 1:18-25
P.S. it's been really encouraging for me to see the comments and to think that this is actually working and although i have fears when wesleyan actually starts, I know I will feel motivated to keep on going.
Note: I think we should put in the title always-what the number and month it is so people can find the post for that day much easier ok? :)

With Genesis I couldnt help but realize how easy it is to be as jealous as Cain, even of your own brother! it sounds really cruel but let's say I experience it more too often as well, and as God said, Why would you feel that way if you had GIVEN your best?
Psalms 11 on the other hand says Serve the Lord with dear and Rejoice with trembling. I say this hesitantly, (my all too corruptible soul) but I want to learn the fear of God and to have so much awe of him that I'm unshakeable by most fleeting emotions that I ordinarily do experience. Like the fact that I feel a bit sad that my Spanish co-boarder in my house left today. :P
(P.S. I have started orientation i.e. french grammar and learning more about French culture for 5 hours a day, and as much as it's been really interesting, it means school has officially started for me) Value your vacation time as long as you can!
Woow you guys post a lot of interesting comments on this thing.. I wish I were able to update more often and check out the comments every day~ T_T
For the second day, I don't have much to say on the other books, but Genesis is pretty interesting...
I noticed in Genesis 3:5 that Satan manipulates God's word in order to tempt Eve. It is true that the fruit allowed Eve to know good and evil, but it did not make her to be "as God".
Also, this might be interesting for those of you who were a part of the men/women/authority conversation that happened during the last night of Urbana.. in Genesis 3:16 it says "thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." The establishment of the husband's authority over the wife occurred AFTER the fall. So, the need for authority comes as a result of our own sin. Eve's independence from her husband eventually led to both of them sinning.
Something else from my footnotes: the curse that results from the first sin is sorrow (because of the futility of endless struggle aganist a hostile environment~ Genesis 3:17), pain(symbolized by the thorns in Gen 3:18), sweat (Gen 3:19), and eventual death.
Jesus Christ faced all of these things on the cross. He was a "man of sorrows," and wore the crown of thorns. He suffered immense pain on the cross, sweated drops of blood, and faced death. However, he overcame death, just as He sacrificed his own life in order to overcome the curse on man.
Genesis 4:12 shows how dangerous it is to be prideful in anything other than God. Cain took pride in his fruits, more so than he did in God, and as a result, God punished him by never allowing him to grow anything out of the ground.
When I studied Genesis before with others, someone pointed out that Eve sinned even before eating the fruit. She added her own condition to God's command--God never said death would result if you touch the fruit.
Gen 4:7 was convicting for me. "...you must master [sin]." Right now I'm struggling a lot with pride.
By the way, my mom is getting surgery on Monday. It's not too big of a deal but I'd really appreciate your prayers.
